American-Made Energy
The economic benefits of natural gas stay here in the United States. Virtually all of the natural gas we use in this country is produced in North America, creating jobs far beyond those directly involved with drilling and production. In communities where production is active, more goods and services are being bought and sold by people and businesses alike. In fact, a recent economic impact study found that the natural gas industry contributed more than $380 billion to our nation's economy in a single year.
At the rate we're using natural gas now, there's enough in America to supply our nation's energy needs for a century. Most experts agree natural gas is the key to a secure energy future. Increased production from places like the Marcellus Shale could even allow us to convert to natural gas-powered vehicles, resulting in a better environment for future generations and a pathway to national energy independence.
